If you like "what the hell is that?" sounds Omnisphere is THE synth.
Some of the new ones that I've had incredible results with: Toxic smasher (wrecks a sound) Envelope Filter Innerspace (adds an atmosphere to your sound, from leaf to metal - really really insane) and the Thriftshop speaker, which puts your sounds through low-fi spaces like iphones and bullhorns.Ħ.
A lot of the units include compressors to greatly increase the punch and clarity of the effect. There are so many distortion and amp units, each with a huge selection of models. Really, pick any sample or wave and just by tweaking effects you can create something that is so good you have to save it. The FX units are pretty unbelievable and possible severely underrated. The waveshaper has always been a mangler par excellence.ĥ. Fun to use with the many included vocal samples.Ĥ. Tweak the controls just right and you can get beautiful, trippy sounds, no matter what source you use. The granular synthesis engine really is second to none. The detuning and drift settings make for gorgeous effects.ģ. The unison settings make for incredibly thick sounds. Any of the 400 waves (again with hard sync, symmetry, and shape controls) can now also be used as modulators for both the frequency modulator and the ring modulator.Ģ. Each wave also has hard sync, symmetry, and shape controls, which create endless pleasing possibilities. So even without the 12000+ samples, Omnisphere is already incredible. Many of the 1000+ sounds in the new EDM library, in fact most, as far as I can tell, are actually made natively using only Omnisphere's synthesis capabilities. The 400 waveforms (up from 4) allow you to create a dazzling array of original sounds. I use Omni, Trillian, Stylus RMX but in a very narrow range of their capabilities. I'm hoping experienced Spectrasonics aficianados here will comment soon re.
